September and the rain

September and the rain

September and the rain. Looking through my photo archives it’s interesting to compare the weather each year. Depending on what app you use on your phone, you may have a memories setting. Each morning my One Drive nudges me about ‘on this day’.

September and the rain

Last year it was thick cloud, but during the previous two years it was bright, clear and pockets of high cloud. Is our weather changing? I don’t know if our weather is changing but we are having more rain than average for today. From May to September is the period most people visit Scotland. Our roads are still busy with visitors, campers can be seen around our lochs making the most of an al fresco experience. It’s a time of year when Scotland looks amazing. The trees are starting to display their autumn splendour, and there’s still enough light in the mornings and evenings to enjoy an extended time outdoors. Traditionally, midges aren’t a problem in September but they are still here and biting.

September and the rain clothing is all you need

As always, to enjoy time outdoors, pick the right clothing. It’s not cold but a reliable waterproof is required and, for me, a hat. You can never go wrong with one!
