Flaming June with snow is not what we’d typically expect this month. The weather has given us a few surprises, and none more so than on 5th June. We were battered with hailstones, and snow decorated the high tops. Albeit the snow was gone within the hour as it was washed off with more rain. Flaming June is actually a painting. It is a work of art depicting a sleeping red-haired woman although it is often attributed to the sixth month of the year. The summer Solstice is on 20th June, and today’s photograph was taken a few years ago high up on the hills above Loch Ericht. Flaming June with snow may still surprise us yet.
