The Scottish Game Fair 2024 was a fun-packed three days of everything countryside. It’s the first countryside focussed event of the year to include clay shooting, gundogs, fishing, stalking ponies and so much more etc.,
On Friday, we had an hour long deer management and the local community discussion in the GWCT Advisory tent. It was very well attended and a vibrant discussion took place hosted by me with lots of interaction from the audience. Later on, Scott MacKenzie interviewed Tom Opre, the director of ‘The Last Keeper’. The long-awaited film delves into the challenges of traditional Scottish countryside roles faced with alien agendas of organisations and governments. Next up was a presentation from The Woodland Trust on carbon code. The afternoon’s events finished with an interview with Hannah Lloyd from the Women in Wellies podcast. On Saturday, discussions covered a wide range of subject matter from river management to stalking for all.
