October sunsets and roaring stags. This weekend we witnessed our first skiff of October snow. It’s a much needed drop in temperate to propel the red deer rut on. The cooler weather brought an opportunity to see some of the sunset. Previously the sunsets have been blocked off by low, thick, heavy cloud cover offering no opportunity for pictures.

Broken sections of cloud allowed the low light of the fading sun to send their long strands over the hills. The day light is shrinking, and as the traditional red deer stag stalking season goes into its final week, the weather looks to remain cool, and ideal for stalking.
