Longer light creates opportunities for taking photographs. The day starts earlier with the sun rising before most people get out of bed, and sets, currently, at 21.42. The light will continue to extend up to the Summer solstice in June. Doesn’t time fly!
Photography opportunities with longer light
If there is one thing a photographer relies upon it is light especially when you work outdoors. Natural light can help create a wonderfully atmospheric photograph, particularly if you are looking to tell a story with your images. Recently, I was out one evening photographing the red deer stags are they transition from one season to the next. They are losing their scruffy winter coats and growing a new set of antlers ready for the rutting season later in the year. Their thick coats are replaced with a sleeker reddish pelage as their bodies undergo an incredible period of change dedicating lots of energy into antler growth. The stags antlers are the fastest growing bone of any mammal in the UK. Here is more information about antler growth.
Longer light creates opportunities through the summer months
It was back in February when I talked about the light and how to make the most of the emerging glow from Mother Nature.
